Our Principal, Colin Gare, joined the Australian Quality Council as a Quality and Productivity Consultant in 1992 after more than 15 years in the manufacturing and information technology industries. He has worked with a wide cross-section of both manufacturing and service organisations implementing sustainable operational improvements and cultural change. Whilst maintaining close links with the Australian Quality Council, he is now principal consultant of the independent company Productivity Conversion.
Colin's expertise is in guiding management through the identification of opportunities for improvement, the planning of change strategies and in the training and support of staff at all levels to implement world-class practices. Productivity Conversion specialises in identifying opportunities for improvement and then developing customised training programs and performance monitoring and analysis methods for individual clients. Colin's engineering background has exposed him to a wide range of manufacturing production environments. He has extensive experience in implementing change strategies in this sector. Knowledge of information technology, manufacturing systems and corporate accounting gives him the capacity to integrate change strategies into the broader business framework.
He has developed, and regularly presents, public workshops for Business Excellence Australia and the Centre for Manufacturing, and course modules for the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and Melbourne University. He also provides training and consulting in advanced quality methods such as SPC and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) throughout Australia and South East Asia.
